Job Description Job Description Description We’re currently looking for a Full Time Caregiver in Charlotte, NC 28209 A lovely family near Selwyn Park is seeking a full-time caregiver for their 84-year-old father for an immediate start. Care is needed long-term, Monday through Friday from 3pm-11pm. The client is introverted, well-traveled, and enjoys watching MSNBC. He has advanced Parkinson’s disease, and he is expected to be discharged from a skilled nursing facility by the end of December. He is able to feed himself independently, and uses both a walker and a wheelchair. The caregiver will need to remain close during transfers due to him being a fall risk. He has experienced multiple hospitalizations over the past few months and will be receiving palliative care (weekly hours to be determined). An ideal candidate will be patient, attentive, and enjoy meaningful conversation with the client. Start date: Immediate Length of Position: Ongoing Schedule: Monday-Friday, 3pm-11pm Compensation: $18-$23 per hour Responsibilities Assist with ADLs Client's laundry Encourage completion of OT, PT, and speech therapy exercises Light housekeeping related to the client (designated personal space) Hygiene assistance, including dressing, showering, and toileting Medication reminders (medications will be pre-organized) Provide companionship (reading together, spending time outdoors weather permitting) Reheat meals and prepare light meals as needed; remain with client during meals and encourage safe pacing with liquids Assist with wheelchair transfers and walker use Requirements 2 years of paid, professional caregiving experience Legally authorized to work in the U.S. CPR certified, or willing to become certified High school diploma or equivalent Able to provide two care-related references from a professional setting Able to successfully clear a background and social media screening CNA certification is a plus Compensation This position pays $18-23 per hour, and the family is looking for 40 hours of care per week.
