About this role:Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Operational Risk
Officer...The Commercial Banking Data Transformation & Sales
Enablement (CB DTSE) Operational Risk Business Oversight Officer is
responsible for the independent oversight of the DTSE front line
operational risk management effectiveness. This role is expected to
engage with business and risk resources within the front line to
influence and challenge risk management activities and decisions
with an emphasis towards data management risk oversight.The
Commercial Banking Data Transformation & Sales Enablement is
considered a thought leader and will assist the business oversight
leader with all matters pertaining to DTSE Operational Risk
coverage and oversight. In this capacity, this role reviews and
challenges significant Front Line operational risk program
execution, including, but not limited to, data management, change
management, payments, external fraud, information risk management,
safety and physical security, transaction processing and execution,
third-party risk management and various risk assessment policies
and programs. The risk professional in this role will also develop
detailed understanding of the business strategy, the customer base,
products and services and other relevant industry issues,
frameworks and emerging risks.In this role, you will:
- Develop, implement, and monitor risk-based programs to
identify, assess, and mitigate any operational risk that arises
from inadequate or failed internal processes, people, systems, or
external events
- Maintain a balance between risk mitigation and operational
efficiency
- Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of policies,
procedures, processes, systems, and internal controls
- Analyze extremely complex business and system changes to
determine impact, identify operational risk issues and participate
in the development of risk ratings
- Provide operational risk expertise and consulting to complex
business units for initiatives with high risk, generally spanning
multiple business lines
- Design and develop the most complex testing strategies,
methodologies and analyses
- Consult with the business to develop corrective action plans
and effectively manage change
- Identify training opportunities
- Design and coordinate the development of training materials and
coordinate or deliver training
- Report findings and develop business cases to influence
executive management, management committee member or head of
business on the need for controls to mitigate risk
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to
resolve issues and achieve goals
- Lead project or virtual teams and mentor less experienced
staffRequired Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Operational Risk experience, or equivalent
demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work
experience, training, military experience, educationDesired
Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of Data management, change management,
transformation initiatives and implementation oversight.
- Strong understanding of corporate/business policies, and
programs as it relates to data management
- Strong understanding of data, processes, products and customer
interactions where they manifest risk
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication
skills
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and
accuracy
- Ability to influence and collaborate at all internal
organizational levels
- Strong strategic and conceptual thinking skills
- Ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear manner
- Leadership skills including the ability to influence
effectively in a matrix environment

framework, including: risk identification, risk appetite and
strategy, risk-related decisions, processes and controls, risk
analytics and governance

with an ability to interact effectively with stakeholders across
the organization, which includes virtual, matrixed leadership
experience
- Proven leadership skills to drive alignment across stakeholder
groups to develop and deliver repeatable end to end risk management
solutions
- Demonstrated professional ability that embodies the Wells Fargo
Vision and Values and leadership competencies
- Proven ability to scope, manage and execute complex risk
management initiatives with high quality and timely delivery
- Flexibility and business savvy to navigate a complex,
highly-matrixed organization
- Experience providing reporting and updates to senior-level
