DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES & OTHER
This position is equivalent to a general laborer and 0 - 2 years of
utility related experience is desired, but not necessary. Lack of
experience can be offset with desire and ambition to learn the
required skills. Familiarity with pipe and cable locators, traffic
hazards, survey, or vacuum excavation truck experience a plus.
Target candidate must be able to learn to drive, operate and
maintain a vacuum excavation truck and related equipment safely and
efficiently. Able to operate pneumatic air tools such as jackhammer
and pogo tamper. Able to create legible field sketches, simple
mathematics and basic field measurements. Ability to follow
instructions, possess the ability and desire to be trained,
mentored and have a positive can-do attitude are necessities. Able
to properly expose or locate various subsurface utilities safely in
varied site conditions or ability to learn subject matter and
skills through training. Ability to perform some equipment
maintenance tasks a plus. Mechanical aptitude is desired. Perform
other duties as assigned.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds, walk for extended periods, and work
in all weather conditions and climates, willing to work
evenings/weekends when required, willing to travel for overnight
and extended stay projects as required.
A valid current driver s license and have the ability to obtain a
Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical card for Commercial
Motor Vehicle operation is required. Current Commercial Driver s
License is a plus.
High School Diploma or GED required. 0 - 2 years of experience
Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment.
