It all begins with you. Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. We focus on three key risk areas: credit risk, operational risk and market risk. We help our management and Board of Directors identify and monitor risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and take appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.The group provides leadership, enhances communications, assists with problem identification and solutions, and shares best practices. In addition, the group provides an enterprise-wide view of risk, assists management and our Board of Directors in identifying and monitoring risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and takes appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.Wells Fargo Credit Card Acquisitions Risk has an exciting and visible opportunity for an individual with a strong analytical background in consumer credit to be part of a team responsible for credit card originations strategy.This key individual will be responsible for Acquisitions Credit Card strategy development and will but not limited to:

  • Produce compelling business cases and gain approval for risk strategy changes and program approval;
  • Enhance and build on existing process controls and staged process validations and approvals throughout strategy changes assuring operations within specifications and approved criteria
  • Identify control gaps in risk or marketing processes that do not align with credit approvals and engage right partners to remediate such gaps
  • Manage complex analyses to assure profitable growth while minimizing credit/operating losses and other risk exposures with ability to adapt to changing economic/regulatory environments
  • Assess risk concentrations, policy change impacts and updated scores/data to optimize risk-return
  • Effectively influence decisions and marketing strategies balancing risk and reward
  • Enhance credit risk reporting/monitoring, and proactively identify emergent trends
  • Partner with internal teams to develop and utilize internal relationship data and bureau data needed to manage lead targeting/selectionThe desired individual will be self-motivated and have strong interpersonal skills in order to actively manage risk while leading and implementing ideas in a cross-functional team environment.

    Required Qualifications
    • 6+ years of risk experience

      • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

        Other Desired Qualifications
        • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
        • Strong SAS and SQL data processing skills
        • Very proficient in Excel and Power Point
        • Results driven attitude
        • Problem solving skills
        • Well organized with attention to detail
        • Works effectively through change
        • Ability to multitask
        • Experience with credit underwriting, risk management, or comparable position with a consumer credit product
        • Self-motivated with a strong desire to advance in a risk management role
