--- Title: General Superintendent
--- Location: Apex or Charlotte NC
--- Compensation: mid 60's to mid 90's based on experience

Position Description:
The Superintendent is primarily accountable for assuring that
assigned jobs adhere to the standards for Safety, Customer and Team
Relationships, Quality, Schedule, Production our number one
priority. In addition, the Superintendent is in responsible for the
Personnel Development by managing field foreman and is the
recruitment, selection, placement and evaluation of all assigned
individuals both employees and subcontractors. The primary focus of
the Superintendent will be to assure that a job is completed
on-time, and on-budget. In addition, they need to develop good
customer relationships to assure that they are the partner that
helps drive the job with the GC/Customer or Client.
Responsibilities:
--- Assure that all jobs' employees and subcontractors meet PWI's
standards for Safety
--- Partner with the Safety team to assure that all employees are
working safely and adhering to PWI and the Customers safety
rules.
--- Ensure that all employees and team adhere to State, Federal,
Local and PWI rules and regulations
--- Develop good customer relationships by meeting with their
Project Mgrs, Superintendents and other assigned staff, regularly
to assess job progress and customer satisfaction
--- Address all issues and situations with customers and secure
their buy-in as to the resolution.
--- Assure that the contract needs are met and that any additional
work is supported by a change order or a change in the
contract.
--- Assuring that the assigned workers time sheets are accurate,
determining appropriate pay levels, assessing skills and
rewarding/disciplining in relation to their performance.
--- Selecting the most skilled and responsible foremen to staff
their jobs
--- Responsible for the selection and hiring of all
sub-contractors. All must have been reference checked and advised
of all of our contract requirements prior to their signing the
contract.
--- Responsible for teaching foremen recruiting, interviewing,
assessing and hiring staff to work on the jobs under the
supervision of foremen.
--- Utilizing or developing regular training programs to enhance
and increase their teams skill- sets and performance
--- Assure that all subcontractors are adhering to PWI standards as
to quality and fairness with their people. Responsible to assure
that their employees are supervised and guided by the subs own
supervision to avoid a co-employer relationship.
--- Partner with the Quality team to assure that every part of the
work represents the best work PWI can do for the Customer.
--- Assure that all jobs meet or exceed customer expectations as to
timing and completion.
--- Develop a talent pool for both workers and foremen to assure
that future staffing needs are met.
--- Determining the job specifications and requirements with the
PWI Project Manager and Estimator relative to the job set-up to
assure that they are fully knowledgeable of the scope and
expectations of the customer and that the plans are accurate. In
addition, work with them on pricing change orders or pricing
special conditions.
--- Weekly assess productivity of staff (foremen and staff) and
take corrective action including retraining, disciplining, or
replacing individuals those not adhering to the established
standards
--- Assure that their Foremen have the Scopes, Budgets, Tools,
Materials and Equipment to perform to PWI standards.
--- Weekly review the productivity of the Subcontractors and
request payment for work performed as outlined in the contract.
Requirements:
--- Prefer Min High School Degree and 5-10 years minimum
experience
--- Strong Interpersonal communication skills to develop strong
relationships with our customers and branch team
--- Prefer OSHA 10 certification
--- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 120 pounds,
frequently lift and/or move up to 120 pounds, and occasionally lift
and/or move more than 150 pounds.
