About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking an Accessibility & Accommodations Leader in the Chief Operating Office, a front-line role established by the Accessibility for Customers and Employees with Disabilities (ACED) Policy. Candidate would be responsible for identifying, assessing, controlling and reporting on the accessibility-related risks generated by the activities of the COO, including Supply Chain Management, Enterprise Complaints Management Office, and multiple other functions under the COO's remit.
In this role, you will:



  • Maintain a working knowledge of the accessibility-risk-generating activities of the COO, including its inventory of digital facilities, and understanding how the requirements from the ACED Policy apply to the activities of the COO.


  • Consult with COO functions on compliance-program- and accessibility-related efforts, including:


  • Assessing accessibility-related risks and controls against major compliance requirements


  • Drafting and implementing accessibility-related procedure(s) across the COO


  • Informing appropriate business-aligned compliance officers (BACOs) if additional compliance awareness activities regarding accessibility are required


  • Serving as the primary point-of-contact for the A&A Coordinator and the Enterprise Complaints Management Office (ECMO) for ADA complaint resolution


  • Partnering with the A&A Utility and the Enterprise A&A Coordinator on escalating issues, in determining reasonable accommodations, and assisting with other A&A-related activities occurring within the COO


  • Engaging the A&A Utility in the third-party lifecycle, during the planning, due diligence, contract negotiation, and monitoring phases, as applicable


  • Ensuring proper maintenance of the accommodations inventory for the COO and its various functions, and providing reporting to the A&A Coordinator / A&A Utility on the provision or denial of accommodations


  • Maintaining information on the digital, physical, and communication channels and associated services of the COO


  • Consulting on accessibility-related risk associated with new business initiatives (including use of third parties) or the need for accessibility-related monitoring, escalations, or self-assurance activities


  • Consult with A&A subject matter experts, the Enterprise A&A Coordinator, the A&A Utility, and Wells Fargo Compliance, as applicable, regarding how to:


  • Document accessibility requirements in use cases, user stories, business process artifacts, requests for proposal, requests for consideration, or contracts


  • Design, modify, or evaluate design standards, including interaction design


  • Evaluate vendor claims of accessibility and design third-party acceptance testing standards, requirements, and processes


  • Provide sufficient evidence to confirm points of interactions are accessible to individuals with disabilities


    Work locations: Charlotte, North Carolina; Minneapolis, Minnesota; Des Moines, Iowa; Dallas, Texas; San Antonio, Texas; Phoenix, Arizona and Portland, Oregon.
    Required Qualifications, US:

    • 7+ years of Business Execution, Implementation, or Strategic Planning experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

      Desired Qualifications:


      • Experience in, or subject matter expertise of accessibility requirements, including ADA rules, regulations, standards, and guidance


      • Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies or other accessibility certification


      • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, with the proven ability to successfully interact with all levels of an organization.


      • Demonstrated success in strategy development and execution of cross business and/or cross enterprise initiatives.


      • Advanced knowledge of organizational procedures, operations, complaints management, and applicable risk and compliance principles, preferably within the financial services industry.


      • Ability to exercise independent judgment and creative problem-solving techniques utilizing critical thinking and analytical skills


        Job Expectations:

        • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
