Urology Specialist of the Carolinas is seeking a full time Diagnostic Scheduler to join our team of dedicated professionals at our University location.Urology Specialists of the Carolinas is a well-established independent urology group with eight offices located throughout the Charlotte region. We have thirty five providers and a large support staff. Our Urologists are educated and trained at some of the country's best medical schools and teaching hospitals. We provide the highest quality care and cover the spectrum of diseases encountered by adults. Diagnostic Scheduler Job Summary: The Diagnostic scheduler is responsible for coordinating all diagnostic imaging and outside referrals. Primary Job Responsibilities, but not limited to: Ensures that patient and insurance information is accurate. Answers, screens and direct telephone calls. Schedules patients for department services based on physician referral. Obtains insurance authorization for the test to be performed. Contacts the appropriate facility that will perform the test and schedule. Responds to all inquiries regarding authorizations. Communicates information to patients regarding insurance coverage, exam schedules and balances. Enters all information in referrals and updates patient chart. Qualifications and Requirements: High school diploma or general equivalency (GED), Minimum two years of administrative assistant experience in a medical office including experience with insurance preauthorization and patient collection Strong communications skills and leadership. Computer competence and knowledge of EMR Systems. Physical Requirement: Must be able to lift and support up to 30 lbs.
