Job Description:
Position Summary:Environmental health and safety (EHS)
coordinators work to create a culture of safety within the
organization. This role implements programs, policies, and
assessments to ensure the company is in compliance with all federal
and internal health and safety rules. This role may also create and
review reports and findings to monitor performance and detect
trends related to health and safety. This position works in liaison
with the Corporate EHS Manager.Position
Requirements/Qualifications:Education: Bachelor's Degree required
OSHA 10-Hour Training required OSHA 30-Hour Training (recommended)
Detailed knowledge of relevant regulations such as OSHA, EPA, DOT,
State RegulationsExperience: Minimum 2 years of relevant work
experienceSkills: First Aid/CPR/AED and Blood Borne pathogen
training requiredEssential Duties: To perform this job

the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.Ensure facilities are
operating in compliance with all applicable health and safety
regulations and requirements as codified in state and federal OSHA
regulations or otherwise referenced (typically through a site
audit, gap analysis, and closure process)Champion initiatives that
identify and communicate facility risk exposures, prioritize risk
reduction needs, and drive closure of recommendations to reduce the
identified risksConsistently evaluates the site's EHS process and
programs to continually improve to achieve world class
performance.Maintain plant safety by directing safety programs to
protect employees against harm and maintain a safe working
environmentConduct job hazard analyses to ensure safe work
environments according to EHS standardsWork with plant leadership,
engineers, and maintenance to institute controls for hazardous and
potentially hazardous conditions and equipmentResponsible for
coordinating activities and communicating internal safety
compliance assessment score, maintain Action Item Registry (AIR)
and report monthly on progress to Corporate EHS ManagerEnsure the
proper onsite management and offsite disposal of solid, universal,
and hazardous wastes and lead a plant-wide effort to correct these
by eliminating root causes and/or reducing wastes, reusing, and
recycling various materialsFacilitate / oversee incident
investigations, root cause analyses, and closure of corrective
actionsWork collaboratively with all levels to ensure the Americhem
Safety Management System is fully implemented and expectations are
being met.Coordinate with EHS Manager and Plant Manager on
compliance and reporting requirements of federal and state
regulations, including OSHA and EPA complianceMaintain written
policies/procedures regarding employee safety, PPE
assessment/certifications, accident prevention and
protectionCoordinate and actively participate in monthly safety
committee meetings and ensure follow up on all actionsFacilitate
safety training and programs and demonstrate the use of safety
equipment as necessaryTrack safety training and all safe
observations to ensure all plant employees receive training by
specified due dates and plant is meeting corporate goals and
requirementsInspect and evaluate workplace environments, equipment,
and practices to ensure compliance with safety standards and
government regulationsConduct risk and hazard analysis for critical
positionsConduct environmental reporting for the site(s) and
monitor environmental performanceAdditional Position
