About this role: Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Compliance
Specialist on the Compliance Strategy, Planning & Governance Team
as part of Independent Risk Management. The Senior Compliance
Specialist will be an individual contributor of the Monitoring and
Controls Office with primary focus on the Compliance Monitoring
Program. Similar to Audit testing, the Monitoring and Controls
Office will perform quality assurance (QA) of the quality of design
and execution for Compliance monitoring activities, plans,
processes, controls, milestones, etc. In this role, you will:
- Supporting the management and execution of the Compliance
Monitoring Program in adherence to the Independent Risk Management
(IRM) Monitoring Policies and Procedures
- Applying a consistent and repeatable process engaging with
stakeholders to understand monitoring activities, plans, processes,
associated controls, design custom QA scripts for that process,
execute and document high-quality Quality Assurance Reviews (to
include employing a sampling strategy), and report on the
findings
- Documenting all findings and communicate and defend the reason
for the findings when appropriate
- Engage and communicate with senior Compliance leaders.
- The Monitoring and Controls Office will provide the Chief
Compliance Officer a view into the quality of execution (i.e.
timeliness, data quality, policy adherence, etc.) of the Compliance
Monitoring Program
- Provide oversight and monitoring of business group risk based
compliance programs
- Maintain compliance risk expertise and consulting for projects
and initiatives with moderate to high risk, over multiple business
lines
- Establish, implement and maintain risk standards and programs
to drive compliance with federal, state, agency, legal and
regulatory and Corporate Policy requirements
- Oversee the Front Line's execution and challenges appropriately
on compliance related decisions
- Develop, oversee, and provide independent credible challenge to
standards with subject matter expertise
- Provide direction to the business on developing corrective
action plans and effectively managing regulatory change
- Report findings and make recommendations to management and
appropriate committees
- Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement
and risk control development
- Receive direction from leaders and exercise independent
judgment while developing the knowledge to understand function,
policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
- Monitor the reporting, escalation, and timely remediation of
issues, deficiencies or regulatory matters regarding compliance
risk management
- Oversee the Front Line's execution and challenges appropriately
on compliance related decisions
- Make decisions and resolve issues to meet business
objectives
- Interpret policies, procedures, and compliance
requirements
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to
resolve issues and achieve goals
- Work with complex business units, rules and regulations on
moderate to high risk compliance matters
- Interface with Audit, Legal, external agencies, and regulatory
bodies on risk related topics Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years of Compliance experience, or equivalent demonstrated
through one or a combination of the following: work experience,
training, military experience, education Desired Qualifications:
- Prior risk based monitoring experience
- Experience working with the Independent Risk Management
Monitoring (IRMM) Tool
- Experience working with the Shared Risk Platform (SHRP) or
ARCHER
- Experience reviewing testing strategies and methodologies;
evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures,
processes, initiatives, products and internal controls; and
identifying issues resulting from internal and/or external
compliance examinations
- Knowledge and understanding of Six Sigma methodology or related
business process experience
- Ability to communicate effectively, in both written and verbal
formats, with senior executive-level leaders Job Expectations:
