The University of Virginia seeks an Enrollment Certification
Specialist to join the Office of the . UREG is responsible for
maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and security of student
academic records. It also advances the institution's commitment to

marginalized communities. UREG is responsible for the official
academic credentialing for all University students and former
students. A member of the UREG credentialing services and student
records support teams, the Enrollment Certification Specialist
interacts with members of the University community to respond to
questions and offer enrollment certifications and other
credentialing services.The successful candidate will be expected
to:
- Support UREG's commitment to Inclusive Excellence by developing

- Provide certification services to students, former students,
and third parties. Develop expertise in processes related to
student services and records and the functions that support those
activities in SIS (Records and Enrollment, Campus Community).
- Verify enrollment and degree information for students, former
students, and third parties in accordance with university policies
and federal and state regulations (FERPA, FOIA, etc.).
- Collaborate with UREG Student Records (SR) Support Team to:
- Processing items/requests received via .
- Provide maintenance and support to schools during Orientation
and start- and end-of-term activities.
- Support enrollment processes, including grade changes, open
enrollment questions, ADRVs, FASEs, name changes, suspensions,
probations, etc.
- Prepare and distribute communications to faculty and schools
related to enrollment and grading processes (grading memos, class
roster reminders, etc.).
- Support query clean-up and reporting to maintain accuracy of
academic records
- Serve as a back-up for processing degree conferrals and diploma
ordering.
- Serve as a resource to students, families, and others who need
enrollment and academic credentialing. -
- Serve as a secondary point of contact with and manage access to
NSC regarding transcripts and other enrollment systems.
- Support team efforts to design solutions that improve
transcript and credentialing services to students/graduates, third
parties, and administrative units.
- Work with UREG communications team to ensure knowledge-based
articles (KBAs) for student services are accurate.
- Process primary name changes, enrollment and degree
verifications, transcript order requests, and other credentialing
services for students and former students. -
- Process requests from current and former students received
through National Student Clearinghouse, U.S. mail, email, and in
person. -
- Respond to queries related to online transcript request
processes; troubleshoot problems; work collaboratively with other
team members to resolve issues or recommend solutions.--- -
- Prepare and distribute communications to students regarding
available student services and the status of their enrollment
certifications and transcript orders.
- Support UREG in providing high quality services to students,
families, and the university community.
- Share responsibility for UREG's call center (daily, managing
efforts of all other UREG colleagues) and email (, ).
- Collaborate with UREG colleagues to recommend process
improvements that benefit students and their families, faculty, the
UREG team, and/or the university community.Required Knowledge,

including students, families, and faculty members

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in higher education
preferred.

Range: $40,000 - $50,000 commensurate with education and
