Job Description:
SUMMARY
Responsible for the production of metal parts using a manual, NC, &
CNC controlled fabrication equipment to make precision bends,
punches, or cuts into metal to form parts. Refer to blueprints or
production documents for efficient and quality production of parts,
setting up, programming & final adjustments to the machine to
ensure quality parts are being produced. Responsible to ensure that
machines are set up properly, working well, operating at full
capacity, stocked with needed materials, and performs routine and
preventative maintenance tasks. Perform quality checks to pass on
quality parts for the next step in production.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other
duties may be assigned.
Learn to set up manual, NC, & CNC fabrication equipment.Learn to
select, load and install correct tooling;Learn to determine
dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces;Perform quality
inspections of parts to produce products that exceed customers'
expectations per drawing specifications;Stage completed product on
skids;Work from live schedule, verbal and written instructions,
bills of material, routing, samples, blueprints and control
plans;Maintain good housekeeping in work area;Act responsibly to
follow safe operating practices.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS to perform this job successfully, an individual must

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associates degree in related field with 1 year of machine operation
experience including setup, or a High school diploma or general
education degree (GED) with 1 to 2 years machine operation
experience including setup, or equivalent combination of education
and experience.
Qualified candidates should:
- Have experience in dimensional measuring and shop math
competence
- Have basic computer skills
- Be capable of using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring
tools
- Have the ability to read and understand blueprints
- Have effective communication skills to discuss and understand
work procedures, training, general direction and other issues with
co-workers and supervisor
- Be flexible to perform overtime duties and adjust schedule when
required
- Be able to work within
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words
and to recognize similarities and differences between words and
between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple
sentences.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of
measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and
interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed
but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with
problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized
situations.
