This position is hybrid remote. Must be eligible to work in the
United States.Magna5 is looking for an experienced network engineer
to bolster our managed services support team. As a Network
Engineer, you will work as part of a larger engineering team
solving problems for our customer base. As part of the Tier 3
engineering team, you will help set an example for lower Tiers in
knowledge, experience, and leadership.**This position is hybrid
remote. All candidates are expected to travel to Charlotte, NC 2-3
times a week. Residing in proximity to Charlotte with a car is a
prerequisite for consideration.**Network Engineer responsibilities
include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Respond to customer support requests through incident tickets,
phone calls, and email
- Interact with clients using professionalism and promptness
- Work to solve problems through collaboration with team
members
- Maintain quality customer service skills in all forms of
communication
- Document resolutions and build knowledge base articles
- Proactive approach to incidents to decrease reoccurring
issues
- Troubleshoot advanced problems with a high-level overview of
client environments
- Engage in continued certification training to improve their
skillset
- Opportunities to participate in internal projects and
designs
- Willingness to certify and maintain relevant certifications for
vendor partnership levels
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation
- Track time, activity, and communication through Magna5's suite
of applications
Requirements:
What You Bring To The Team
- Minimum of 3 years' experience administering/supporting
networking technologies
- An associate or bachelor's degree in Information Technology or
relevant work experience
- Enjoy working in a team environment and support multiple
customer issues at a time
- Ability to prioritize workload base on severity of
requests
- Possess a strong curiosity and enjoy learning new technology.
This position will provide exposure to a wide variety of networking
technologies
- An ideal candidate will enjoy troubleshooting and thinking
outside the box
- Possess an excellent work ethic and set an example for
others
- MSP or Professional service experience are bonus
pointsExperience with designing and implementing a network topology
consisting of but not limited to:
- Strong fundamental knowledge and experience with switches and
routers
- Strong understanding of firewall functions such as NAT/PAT and
VPN
- Experience with EIGRP/OSPF/BGP, MPLS/VPLS is a plus
- Understanding and working knowledge of Radius/LDAP/802.1x
- Knowledge of Spanning-Tree and Port-Channels
- Experience with any High Availability concepts: HSRP/VRRP, A/A
and A/P.
- An understanding of SD-WAN, QoS and Traffic Shaping
- The ability to design detailed network drawingsCertification
ExpectationsRelevant networking certification or the willingness to
obtain a credential is strongly preferred. The following
certifications are examples of an engineer who may hold this
position.
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNA)
- Fortinet Network Security4 (NSE4)
- Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Associate
(PCNSA)
- Azure or AWS Networking CertificationsHours & ScheduleThis
position is primarily business hours (Monday-Friday 8am - 5pm EST)
with occasional after-hours work for incident troubleshooting or
project work. All engineers are part of an on-call rotation and may
