Job Description:


Element has an opportunity for a Machine Operator/Finisher to join our rapidly expanding team. As a member of the operations team, this position performs a variety of routine and non-routine machining assignments within the department assigned and ensures timely and accurate test results under direct supervision.


* Uses cutting equipment to prepare specimens for testing as dictated in customer specifications
* Sets up and performs a variety of machining tasks according to customer specifications and requirements
* Requires minimal supervision and technical input from Department Manager, Principal Machinist, Project
* Coordinator, or Engineer
* Possesses the ability to mentor and train colleagues who have less experience through effective communication of machining process and technical data

Skills / Qualifications

* Associates degree or vocational certificate in a mechanical related field plus three (3) to five (5) years of advanced machine operation experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
* Working knowledge of machine operation and laboratory safety
* In-depth understanding of specimen preparation
* Possess a solid understanding related to machining concepts, measuring instruments, and dimensional concepts

NOTE: This position requires access to export-controlled commodities, technical data, technology, software, and services. U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, protected person status under 8 U.S.C. - 1324b(a)(3), or U.S. Government export authorization is required.
