Armstrong Transport Group, Inc. is a leading third-party logistics firm that provides transportation services for shippers and customers throughout North America. Armstrong is an agent-based model where all offices are owned and operated by individuals working as 1099 contractors. Back-office support, including Accounting, Finance, Claims, Legal, Human Resources, IT, and Marketing is provided to those independent freight agents from our employees located at our headquarters in Charlotte, NC

As Armstrong Transport Group continues to grow, the Training & Development Department is seeking an energetic and creative Instructional Designer to join our team. The duties and responsibilities of this position include designing, developing and implementing engaging learning experiences that align with corporate objectives by utilizing a blended learning strategy comprised of face-to-face (ILT), virtual (VILT ), and interactive eLearning courses. Then select individuals will partner with all levels of the Armstrong organization to conduct needs assessments and identify performance gaps, while also collaborating with subject matter experts to establish effective learning strategies to improve overall performance and efficiencies. In addition to establishing course learning objectives, this individual will create scripts, storyboards and course design documents along with delivering products such as video tutorials, eLearning, and other digital learning assets. This 40 hour a week position is based out of our corporate office in Charlotte, NC, and offers a hybrid work schedule.

Requirements

Job Responsibilities
Collaborates with L&D team, corporate staff, field leaders, and subject matter experts to conduct needs assessments and to develop dynamic, effective face-to-face, live online virtual and eLearning experiences using video, eLearning, and other digital learning assets.
Designs and develops courses and curriculum using sound instructional design principles.
Evaluates course content and adjusts as needed.
Assist with training associates on how to use learning technologies.
Actively participate in face-to-face and virtual sessions, while facilitating as needed to support learning initiatives.
Assist with the management of the Armstrong Academy learning experience platform.
Stays current with instructional design best practices.
Support all users by answering questions and troubleshooting issues related to Armstrong Academy.
Perform other duties that support corporate training initiatives.

Skills
Demonstrated proficiency in instructional design and adult learning theory.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to communicate effectively and present ideas and concepts.
Critical Thinking and Analytical skills.
Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
Working knowledge of Learning Management Systems.
Excellent Project Management Skills, having the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time.
Experience working with authoring tools, preferably Adobe Captivate, Photoshop, Premier, InDesign, Audition.
Microsoft Office tools

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
Three years teaching experience in a public, private or corporate environment.
Passionate about creating dynamic and meaningful learning experiences.
Team player with a strong desire to work in a collaborative environment.
Technically proficient in using authoring tools.
Proficient in using virtual training platforms, such as Adobe Connect, Zoom, Teams.
Strong organizational and project management experience.
