Our Gensler Charlotte Office is seeking an Architectural Design
Director to lead our Commercial Office Building Practice Area. We
value leadership in the managing of people, creativity and
identifying and implementing strategy. Our ideal candidate excels
in creativity and innovation, is experienced and successful at
leading major architectural projects and has a strong understanding
of trends in architectural design.
What You Will Do
Direct and provide leadership for design teams.
Lead the orchestration and strategy of design presentations.
Leverage oneself beyond project-based focus to address greater
office and regional issues.
Continually improve the quality of our work, the manner in which
we deliver it and the process we employ to attain it.
Build, nurture and foster new relationships with a broad client
Work closely with Design Directors and Regional
Design Directors across the firm to promote an
inter-disciplinary design approach and philosophy and facilitate
its advancement in respective offices and across the firm.
Be an integral part in the growth and success of architectural
Effectively communicate and implement the key strategic
initiatives and become an influential “Voice” of design
Master’s degree in architecture
15+ years of related experience, with a strong background in
commercial office building projects; international COB project
experience a plus
Portfolio of ‘built’ work to use in pitching/winning work
Strong conceptual thinker with the ability to create great form
from interior architecture and embrace sound business strategy as
applied to effective projects
Strong leadership, communication and relationship-management
skills; able to rally teams around design intent and to effectively
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Service oriented and willing to foster a respectful, creative
and inspiring environment.
Revit skills are highly valued
