The Director of Training & Development is a strategic leader responsible for establishing the vision and strategy for a best in class training center of excellence. This includes identifying and monitoring training needs across the organization, as well as, designing, planning and implementing training programs, processes and procedures to fulfill those needs. The Director of Training & Development is responsible for improving the productivity of the organization's employees. The Director of T&D is responsible for engaging with leaders, providers, stakeholders, and Cardinal staff in training and development programs and initiatives for the primary purpose of improving outcomes for our members. This position will manage the team responsible for the development and implementation of these programs and the measurement of program effectiveness. Projects and initiatives may include collaborations with external partners and vendors in addition to software applications that would further the educational and training needs and opportunities of Cardinal employees and the provider network.. Essential Functions. Ensures consistency in the delivery and application of training standards across the organization and oversees the planning, prioritization, and development of new training programs and initiatives, ensuring that these programs and initiatives are consistent with the overall strategies, objectives, and needs.. Collaborates with functional management teams to assess ongoing and future training and development needs as well as effectiveness of established programs. Serve as the Approved Continuing Education Provider (ACEP) administrator that oversees the North Carolina Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) continuing education program and credits. Oversee the management of the learning management system (LMS). Leads the organization leadership Training Council to drive integration and alignment for learning strategies across all functions. Ensures that training materials and programs are current, accurate, and effective. Maintains knowledge of new methods and techniques for training, and training requirements applicable to the organization and healthcare industry. Identifies problems and opportunities such as operational changes or industry developments that training could improve. Conducts or facilitates required and recommended training sessions. Manages a team of learning consultants, instructional designers, and facilitators. Tracks and reports on key performance indicators related to learning and development programs and identifies areas of opportunity and improvement. Ensures that training milestones and goals are met while adhering to approved training budget. Establishes dashboard reporting and metrics to measure training outcomes and shares with stakeholders. Conducts analyses in order to identify and define present and future training needs.. Partners with departmental heads and managers to ensure proper execution of ongoing departmental training programs in order to achieve the desired results and ultimately improve the overall performance of the department. Oversees and establishes relationships with vendors to provide additional outside training programs.. Creates strategies and specific objectives for the function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the training infrastructure. Collaborates with other human resources leaders in defining strategies and ensuring their alignment in order to prioritize work and meet overall organization priorities. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:. Understands training design, development and measurement techniques. Passionate about leading edge training technology, tools, and delivery methods. Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods, including SABA, Kronos, Open Sesame. Demonstrated learning agility – ability to pick up new things quickly / desire to learn. Inquisitive – willing to ask the right questions and probe for more information. Strong data and analytical ability. Good systems thinking and process orientation.. Familiarity with healthcare credentialing requirements. Confidence and poise – demonstrated ability to interface with all levels within the organization and develop and maintain effective internal and external relationships.. Demonstrated ability to prioritize; effective time management skills while handling multiple projects simultaneously.. Experience developing and delivering presentations to the C-suite. Creative in leveraging traditional/alternative training methods.. Extensive understanding of the organization’s business and knowledge of the methods and techniques involved in its operations.. Familiarity with the methods and principles for designing programs to teach, train and instruct both groups and individuals, including the means of assessing the effects of training. Strong customer and personal service skills, including customer (or employer) needs assessment, evaluation of satisfaction and ensuring quality standards of service. Demonstrated experience in content creation, maintenance of training processes, and the successful development of ongoing training and development programs. Strong analytical skills as well as research, data analysis, and the insights that are derived from it. Demonstrated ability to carry out analyses on the performance of training programs while drawing insights that lead to their improvement, and formulating lasting solutions and the development of new strategies.. Bachelors in Training & Development, Education, Human Resources, Psychology, Business, or any other related field required. Experience:. 10+ years management/leadership experience required; CPLP (Certified Professional in Learning & Performance) and SHRM-CP/SCP preferred. 7-10 years’ experience in a training and development capacity in the healthcare industry preferred.. Experience in content creation, maintenance of training processes, and the successful development of ongoing training and education programs..
