Job Description Our client seeks an experienced IP Litigation
Paralegal and Patent Assistant to join its Charlotte, NC office.
This role supports attorneys in the Intellectual Property
Litigation team with drafting, filing, and managing litigation
documents, primarily in Federal Court, while handling multiple,
deadline-driven case management responsibilities across differing
jurisdictions. The position also assists patent attorneys and
agents with high-volume patent prosecution from preparation to
maintenance, including domestic and international filings,
correspondence with clients, inventors, and foreign agents, and
USPTO interactions. The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s
degree and have at least five years of experience in Federal IP
litigation and patent prosecution. Required skills include PACER
research, Federal Court ECF filing, knowledge of litigation
terminology, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Strong
organizational, research, communication, and case management
abilities are essential, along with the capacity to manage multiple
projects independently while maintaining confidentiality. Key
responsibilities include preparing pleadings, deposition summaries,
and exhibits; coordinating with experts, clients, and court
personnel; attending trials or arbitrations; and overseeing docket
deadlines. Patent-related duties include filing U.S. and PCT
applications, preparing responses to Office Actions, managing
Information Disclosure Statements, and ensuring compliance with
prosecution requirements. This is an in-person, hourly non-exempt
position.
