work:Our hybrid workplace model offers the freedom to work fully
remote or occasionally in one of our offices. This is a remote
position with a hybrid option for candidates based in Boston,MA.How
you'll contribute:The Company is seeking an attorney to join the
Brighthouse Legal Department to be part of a team that provides
day-to-day support with respect to insurance products registered as
securities under the Investment Company Act of 1940 and the
Securities Exchange Act of 1933. This is a good opportunity for a
lawyer to enhance their skills to become a well-versed securities
product lawyer.In this role, you'll get to:Provide legal support
for all aspects of legal and regulatory matters under the federal
securities laws including preparing registration statement filings
and supplemental filings for variable annuity, variable life,
registered index-linked annuities, registered index-linked life and
registered fixed products.Provide legal support and counsel with
respect to development, administration, operation and marketing of
registered products including related regulatory and legislative
issues.Participate in review of contract, policy, rider,
endorsement, application, specifications and business requirements
for new products or product changes or enhancements.Prepare and
oversee drafting of various regulatory filings such as Form D, Form
24f-2 and Form N-30D.Provide support of the electronic document
management platform, ArcPro and WorkFlow, used to create and update
registration statements.We're looking for people who have:Juris
doctorate from an accredited law school; admitted to practice
before a state bar association.Prior experience in the financial
services, insurance or mutual fund law (5+ years
experience).Experience interacting with clients and managing or
escalating questions or issues as appropriate; strong oral and
written communication skills; interpersonal and organizational
skills; and analytical thinking and problem-solving
skills.Excellent time management and detail oriented. Strong sense
of urgency, with the ability to identify and articulate issues,
offer solutions and follow-through to resolution.Preferred
experience with electronic document management systems such as
ArcPro or Toppan Merrill.Research shows some people may not apply
