Here, you will find talented peers, comprehensive benefits, a culture guided by diversity and inclusion, career growth opportunities and your life's best work.(sm) In the newly created role of Vice President, Mobile App Product Management you will be responsible for crafting and executing the vision for how Optum's end consumers engage through our mobile app channels. You will drive digital product strategy and partner with multiple business and technology groups across the organization to innovate and inspire changes to the mobile app ecosystem experience. You will play a leading role in shaping the way in which people interact with Optum both from a B2B and B2C standpoint. You will help shape digital product strategy while driving capabilities and features to execute on strategy. You will be responsible for managing a team of product managers that build business cases (CBAs) for defining & driving omnichannel product features and capabilities in an effort to maximize ROI and deliver a superior customer experience. You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Mobile App Product Strategy Oversight
    • Set the vision, strategy, objectives, and OKRs for the Optum Mobile App
    • Engage and cultivate relationships with Consumers to deeply understand their needs
    • Build market and competitor awareness among the team
    • Analyze consumer feedback and usage metrics to identify key pain points
    • Partner with an empowered UX Design and User Research team to develop innovative concepts while collaborating on discovery & design
    • Serve as a leading voice of the customer and act as a customer experience advocate in considering product decisions that will impact the customer
      • Mobile App Product Roadmap Execution
        • Find opportunities to improve the dual track agile process (required resources, team reassignment, different global team structures, new tools, different product, design, or engineering methods) and focus on providing solutions and delivering results
        • Actively monitor key business metrics and adjust team priorities as appropriate to deliver on financial and customer adoption goals
        • Manage bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make trade-offs, balance the business needs versus technical constraints, and maximize business benefit while building great customer experiences
        • Roll up sleeves as necessary to ensure projects stay on schedule and meet our high standards of quality
        • Leverage online controlled experiments and quantitative and qualitative user insights to make data-informed decisions
        • Constantly question and clarify the cross-functional implications of all product decisions and ensure that critical business issues are surfaced and considered
        • Ensure that product specifications meet high standards and business goals for quality before approval and launch
        • Guide product managers to ensure that product specifications are well understood by engineering
        • Support team members as they provide product requirements clarification and reply to implementation considerations raised by the technology team
        • Support senior leadership and the technology organization in developing and improving product development, product management and project management practices
          • People Leadership
            • Coach and mentor team members
                • Develop, lead and inspire Product Managers (each responsible for defining and delivering the ecommerce product capability roadmap)
                • Create and foster career development and growth paths for team members in alignment with company, product and personal objectives
                • Create clear and measurable goals and objectives for the team related to the creation and enhancement of timely, high-quality products that support critical business objectives, requirements change management, and partnership with cross-functional teams
                • Assist direct reports with ongoing prioritization and resource allocation to ensure that crucial business initiatives are delivered
                • Hiring, retention and succession planning
                  • Executive Stakeholder Management
                    • Collaborate with Business, User Experience Design, User Research, Engineering, Content, Marketing, and Data Science teams to create best-in-class solutions for customers
                    • Ensure direct contact with partners and customers across global geographies (Asia, Americas, Europe, Middle East) and businesses to encourage customer empathy
                    • Raise awareness of team's plans, insights and accomplishments in order to facilitate cooperation across departments and to build a highly performing, highly motivated team
                    • Lead teams in partnering with key stakeholders to develop clear and complete opportunity assessments and business requirements and present to senior management the information necessary to make informed approval, prioritization and tradeoff decisions
                    • Ensure that all relevant parties and key stakeholders are informed of product status from concept through launch
                    • Communicate key product metrics to executive leadership team
                    • Develop and maintain relationships with key business owners and senior management You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications:
                      • 10 + years of consumer facing product management experience
                      • 5 + years of experience managing teams
                      • Experience working on Android, iOS, and React Native solutions
                      • Experience influencing product direction and others around you
                      • Experience with personalization, recommendations, and A/B testing
                      • Expert product instincts and an ability to balance user and business impact
                      • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
                      • Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
                      • Experience overseeing product roadmap strategy and definition
                      • Proven digital product background
                      • Well-rounded understanding of current mobile technologies
                      • Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, manage tradeoffs and evaluate opportunistic new ideas with internal and external partners
                      • Demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills, evidenced by the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive actions
                      • Clear, concise, and thorough written and oral communication skills
                      • Passion for transforming the healthcare industry by tackling human centric problems
                      • Thrives in a large, matrixed environment, with shared accountabilities for delivering business, consumer experience and technology outcomes
                      • Manage ambiguity and complexity in an organized wayPreferred Qualifications:
                        • Bachelor's degree or higher within a technical discipline
                        • MBA
