Lecturer of Business Information Systems and Operations
Management The Department of Business Information Systems and
Operations Management, one of six departments in the Belk College
of Business at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte,
invites applications for a full-time position as a Lecturer,
beginning in the Fall 2022 semester. To be initially appointed to a
position as a Lecturer, a candidate must present evidence of
success in business, professional or academic practice, potential
for or evidence of past effective teaching, and potential for a
successful academic career, as well as an ability to contribute to
diversity initiatives of the department, college, and university.
Individuals selected for this position will be expected to possess
a Masters or higher degree in Management Information Systems (MIS),
Business Analytics (BA), Operations Management (OM), or a closely
related field from an appropriately accredited program and must
meet professional and/or academic qualifications as defined in the
Belk College Policy on Academic Professional Qualifications. The
Department is particularly interested in candidates whose academic
backgrounds and professional qualifications span MIS, BA and OM.
Candidates must have a good understanding of the use of information
systems in business and analytics and supply chain management.
Knowledge of analytics programming languages and tools, such as R,
Poython, SAS, is a plus. Prior teaching experience in one or more
of the above areas is preferred. The teaching load is an equivalent
of four MIS/BA/OM courses per semester. In addition to teaching,
the selected candidate will also be expected to engage in
appropriate service activities in the Department, College and
University. The candidate should also engage in sufficient
professional activities to maintain currency in the feld. This is a
non-tenure track position with an initial two-year contract. The
salary is competitive. Subsequent contracts will depend on
performance, departmental needs, and the Colleges budgetary
