Head of Technology Risk and Technology Risk Practice Leader New York, NY / Charlotte, NC Information Technology ID:128014 Our client, the leading international insurance organization, is seeking a Head of Technology Risk and Technology Risk Practice Leader Location: New York, NY / Charlotte, NC Position Type: Full Time Job Summary: This position is responsible for independently assessing technology risk, including providing an independent and aggregate view of enterprise Technology risks. In addition, this position is responsible for ensuring technology risk governance, routines, frameworks, policies, controls, and tools align to the Corporate Risk Framework and are properly implemented. This position will be responsible for effectively collaborating with key stakeholders across lines of business and lines of defense to ensure risks are being managed effectively and efficiently. This is a leadership role with several direct reports, and an expectation of driving standards and performance across both 1st and 2nd-line Technology Risk. In this role, you will be a member of the Enterprise Risk Management Team and a direct report to the Head of Governance and Operational Controls. Job Responsibilities: -Establish best practices, coverage and review cycle for Technology Risk Management activities performed by the 2nd-line Technology Risk team across. -Directly responsible for Technology risk management oversight of Corporate Technology. -Providing independent risk management oversight of Technology risk generated within business processes or that occur during the use of technology. These activities and functions include but are not limited to people, process, technology and external events. -Providing expertise in the design and maintenance of a risk management framework that provides an independent view of Technology risk. -Ensuring a company-wide understanding of regulatory requirements and maintain alignment with Corporate Operational Risk Oversight and Governance expectations. -Providing oversight and credible challenge to front line activities, including those related to remediation plans. -Evaluating current and future solutions and capabilities while balancing risks associated with external partnerships. -Identifying and reporting aggregate Technology risks to the enterprise generated from Technology and lines of business. -Apply subject matter expertise to review, interpret and challenge strategies to ensure compliance requirements and risk mitigation expectations are within the firm's risk appetite. -Developing and executing plans to address gaps and improve the effectiveness of Technology risk management, paying attention to trends in financial services and other highly regulated industries. -Manage central team of direct reports and ensure that high standards and productivity are maintained by the 2nd-line team across the enterprise, with a focus on continuous improvement. What We Are Looking For: -This position requires business engagement, to drive and effect change. This position will partner with both internal and external stakeholders, including senior management from all three lines of defense. -Must work closely with business leaders to provide advice and guidance on key strategic business decisions and ensure ongoing Technology risk taking activities remain consistent with Board-approved parameters and all policies and procedures established within the framework. -Must have balanced approach to risk taking and reward and challenge and escalate when required. -Strong ability to influence stakeholders. -10+ years of experience in Technology Risk or related fields. -Experience in evaluating and managing operational risk, information security, cyber risk, control environments of third party entities, etc. -Experience managing operational risks including effectively integrating risks and risk programs (i.e. technology, information security, disaster recovery, third party, etc.). -Significant management experience in a multinational environment. -Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Effective with individual contributors, teams and executive leadership. -Excellent technical and analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy. -Information security industry certifications preferred.--
