As Executive Chef/Kitchen Manager, you are responsible for the food guests rave about. From prep and execution to plating and presentation, you set the culinary standard for the restaurant and lead a passion-driven culinary team that takes pride in every dish that leaves the kitchen. This role is ideal for a culinary leader who cares deeply about detail, consistency, and execution, thrives in a high-volume environment, and wants to be hands-on in a kitchen where standards matter and great food is not only noticed, but is a passion. Your Role as Culinary Leader: Culinary Excellence · Lead the execution of food that is consistently prepared, beautifully presented, and worthy of guest praise · Uphold Village Tavern’s culinary standards through recipe adherence, prep accuracy, and attention to detail · Ensure precise plating, garnish, and visual presentation of every dish · Conduct regular line checks and tastings to confirm quality and consistency Leadership & Operations · Train, coach, and develop BOH team members on technique, prep, and presentation · Build a kitchen culture rooted in pride, professionalism, and accountability · Lead and manage the BOH team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment · Oversee food ordering, inventory, and par levels with a focus on quality and waste control · Maintain sanitation, safety, and temperature standards at all times · Partner with the General Manager to support operational and guest experience goals What We’re Looking For We’re looking for a culinary leader who: · Has proven experience as a Kitchen Manager, Executive Chef, Sous Chef, or similar BOH leadership role · Brings pride to culinary detail, execution, and presentation · Leads by example and enjoys mentoring and developing others · Balances passion for food with discipline and consistency · Thrives in a high-volume, standards-driven kitchen Qualifications · Proven culinary leadership experience (degree preferred, experience equally valued ) · Strong understanding of cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and kitchen operations · Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and industry best practices · Excellent organizational and communication skills · ServSafe Certification (preferred, not required) Why Village Tavern At Village Tavern, we foster a welcoming, supportive culture for our team members while offering a modern tavern experience with elevated cuisine and beverages.
