Lead Bistro Bartender at Courtyard by Marriott Ballantyne

Job Summary: The Bistro Bartender will provide exceptional service to all guests of The Courtyard by Marriott Charlotte Ballantyne. Prepare and deliver food and drinks (including alcoholic beverages), operate Micros point of sale system and process payments from guests. Maximize revenues while ensuring high quality of products and service. Connect with guests on a personal level while helping them to discover The Bistro and make the most of their stay. **Part-Time Position**

Primary Responsibilities:

-Serves guests in a prompt and courteous manner and according to established service standards.
-Prepares and serves beverages, including Starbucks coffee drinks, beer, wine, cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with local laws and responsible alcohol serving standards.
-Accepts guest orders for food, beverages and retail items; enters orders into Micros and collects payment; responsible for cash drawer and handling monies.
-Describes menu items, methods of preparation and prices to guests as requested.
-Up sells to maximize food and beverage revenues.
-Advises supervisor of low inventory items.
-Maintains sanitation and cleanliness standards in accordance with state and local laws and franchise requirements.
-Reports unsafe or malfunctioning equipment to supervisor.
-Responds quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner. Follows up to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Note: Other duties as assigned by supervisor or management Qualifications:
Education/ Experience:
Basic reading, writing and math.
Food service experience with general knowledge of restaurant operations and bartender skills is preferred.

Certification and/or License Requirement:
Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit as required by local or state government agency.

Customer service.
Interpersonal communications.
Organizational skills.
Speed and efficiency.

Working Conditions:
Will be required to work nights, weekends and holidays.
Will be required to work in fast paced, stressful environment.
May be asked to work overtime.

The major responsibility in this position is to provide prompt and courteous service to restaurant guests; therefore a significant portion of the time is spent speaking, listening, walking, standing and carrying.

Communication skills are used a significant amount of the time when talking with guests or staff and when given instructions.

Carrying, lifting, and pushing items of up to 75 pounds (i.e. plates, utensils, trays, tables, carts) occurs daily.
