Job Description:

Carmel Country Club has an exciting opportunity for a Sous Chef in our Kitchen. We pride ourselves on providing an excellent dining experience for our members from both a service and food quality standpoint. We are in search of a Sous Chef who will bring a creative flare to the kitchen and be instrumental in ensuring that the kitchen runs smoothly and turns out excellent product in a timely manner. In this important role the individual will serve as the "second-in-command" in the kitchen assisting the Executive Chef in supervising food production for all food outlets, banquet events and other functions at the club.

Specific responsibilities include assuming complete charge of the kitchen the absence of the Executive Chef; preparing and supervising the kitchen staff responsible for the daily preparation of soups, sauces and specials to ensure that methods of cooking, garnishing and portion sizing are as prescribed by standardized recipes; expediting food orders during peak service hours; supervising, training and evaluation kitchen personnel, reporting all member and guest complaints to the chef and assisting with the resolution; assisting with food inventory; preparing reports, arranging schedules and cost menus and performing other administrative duties.
