have a valid RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have:
- General Med/Tele skillset - Stroke experience - Cardiac rhythm
interpretation - Trach care - Peripheral IV starts - Chest tube
management - NGT placement - Drain and tube management (e.g.,
Dobhoff, PEG tubes, Hemovac, JP drains, foley insertion and
management) - PCA pump and medication drip management Description:
We are seeking a qualified Registered Nurse for a MedSurg/Tele
position. The nurse will work within a team that is committed to
high-quality patient care. The unit focuses on decompressing the ED
and other specialty areas. Patients include adults and geriatrics
with a variety of diagnoses. Common diagnoses include COPD
exacerbation, pneumonia, CHF exacerbation, falls with injuries, MVC
with injuries, pulmonary embolism, DVT, UTI, pneumothorax, GI
bleeds, and CVA. Patient ratios vary based on the unit and are
generally 1:4 to 1:6. The department functions as a cohesive family
unit. Support roles include CNAs for vital signs, hygiene care, and
patient assistance. The unit is equipped with technology to
facilitate patient monitoring and care. Nurses are responsible for
telemetry monitoring and completing interpretations each shift.
Floating to other units may be required based on departmental
needs. The scheduling rotation includes weekend commitments and
