find a qualified Med/Surg / Tele RN in Charlotte North, North
Carolina, 28262! JOB DESCRIPTION RN - MedSurg / Tele About
Facility: o 874 Licensed beds o Level I Trauma o Teaching Hospital
o Chest Pain Center o Stroke Center o Magnet Designated o Radius
rule: Traveler s permanent address must be 50 miles outside of home
unit Unit Information: o Beds: 36 o Minimum Years of Experience
required? 2 years Med/Tele RN exp (Resource Team) o Will you accept
a first-time traveler? Not preferred but will consider (Resource
Team) Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: o Bladder CA, prostatectomy,
kidney stones, renal CA, patient requiring fluid
resuscitation/blood products, TURBT o ESLD, peritoneal dialysis, GI
Disorders and infections, Liver Failure, AKI/CKD, pre & post
operative kidney/liver/pancreas transplant, acute rejection o
Surgical Trauma-Chest tubes, SCI, GSW, MVA, traumatic falls
w/injury Patient Ratios: o RN: 1:4-6 (surge staffing could increase
ratios up to 1:7-8) o CNA: 1:9-12 Required License, National
Certification, Certs (BLS, ACLS, etc.), or other position specific
requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance: o BLS,
ACLS, NIHSS (Resource Team requirement) Skills required: o General
Med/Tele skillset: Stroke experience, cardiac rhythm
interpretation, trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT
placement, drain/tube management (Dobhoff, PEG tubes, Hemovac, JP
drains, flexiseals, foley insertion/management, etc), PCA pumps o
Medication gtt management to include: Cardiac drips, Heparin, blood
products, IVF Support within the Department: o CNA ratios vary o
Receptionist/HUC o Charge nurse, 24/7 may or may not have patients
o Phlebotomy peripheral blood draws only o IV/VAT Team o Resource
Nurse as available o RT, 24/7 o Hospitalist, 24/7 o Intensivist,
24/7 o Telemetry monitoring/tech? No monitoring tech; nurses read
monitors and respond Technology/Equipment: o EMR: EPIC o IV Pump:
Alaris o Med dispensing: Omnicell o Monitors: Phillips Floating: o
Within region and scope of practice o Will be required to float per
region needs will require floating to all facilities listed below,
as needed, within scope of practice DECLINE if not agreeable o

that applies (will change per requisition) Region 1 - Cabarrus,
University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, Central Division (CMC Main
Mercy LCH (peds only) could float to any of the facilities within
region if the need arises Region 2 - Pineville, Anson, Union, Union
West, Central Division (CMC Main CMC Mercy Levine Children s
Hospital) Region 3 - Cleveland, Kings Mtn, Lincoln, Central
Division (CMC Main Mercy LCH) If floating mid-shift, Traveler will
be paid for the time traveling between facilities (will remain on
the clock) Orientation (facility and unit): o NEO o 2 days
departmental Scheduling: o Weekend rotation: every other o No call
for travelers o Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of
holidays o RTO: Can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays
must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet
