working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Charlotte,
North Carolina, 28210! Job Title: RN - PCU Profession: Registered
Nurse Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift:
12-hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 18
months of PCU experience License: RN License Certifications: BLS,
ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Experience with patients with COPD/Pulmonary
Diseases, Heart Failure, Cardiac Arrhythmias, Renal Failure,
Sepsis, ETOH/CIWA, and IVDA. Experience with tracheostomies
requiring mechanical ventilation. Experience with continuous
BIPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, hypothermia regulation, and
titratable IV drips. Experience with temporary/transvenous
pacemaker, cardiac gtt, cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tubes,
trach care, blood products, and wound care/dressing changes.
Experience with trached/vented patients. Description: This position
is for a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit. The unit
has a bed capacity of 36 with an average census of 36 patients.
Patient ratios are RN: 1:3-4 and CNA: 1:9. Patients in this unit
typically present with various conditions, including COPD, heart
failure, and renal failure. The RN will provide care for patients
requiring advanced interventions, including mechanical ventilation
and IV medications. Support within the department includes CNAs for
patient care, a 24/7 IV/VAT team, and virtual nursing support. The
unit operates under a collaborative team culture, fostering
excellent teamwork and a family-oriented environment. Nurse
educators and clinical nurse specialists are available to support
ongoing education and patient care. This role requires the RN to be
flexible, floating to other facilities within the region as needed.
Virtual nursing assists with admissions, discharges, and medication
verification. Familiarity with technology and equipment such as EMR
systems and monitors is essential. Candidates should be comfortable
in a fast-paced environment and able to manage a diverse patient
