This opportunity features a challenging role caring for intermediate-level patients in a specialized stepdown unit focused on stroke and cardiovascular care. Experience providing close monitoring and neuro assessments is essential, with a strong emphasis on managing hemodynamic drips and telemetry. Responsibilities: Provide nursing care to patients with diagnoses including stroke, heart failure, TIA, sepsis, syncope, AKI, and chest pain. Monitor and manage hemodynamic drips such as Cardizem, Heparin, Insulin, Neo, Nitro, and Amio, titrating medications as appropriate. Conduct frequent neurological assessments using NIHSS certification, detecting and escalating changes promptly. Analyze telemetry rhythms and collaborate with cardiac surveillance for patient safety. Utilize specialty equipment including Philips MX-40 monitors, Baxter IV pumps (transitioning to Alaris in 2026), and wound vacs as needed. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including CNAs, charge nurses, phlebotomists, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and intensivists. Qualifications / Desired Experience: Registered Nurse with a minimum of 1 year experience in stepdown or progressive care units. Certification in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required. Competence in telemetry interpretation and neuro monitoring. Skilled in managing intermediate-level care patients with complex cardiovascular and neurological needs. Ability to work effectively within a supportive interdisciplinary team. Additional Information: 36-bed Progressive Care Unit with an average daily census of 35. Patient-to-RN ratio: 4:1.
