management Blood product administration Wound care and dressing
changes Management of central lines Description: We are seeking a
Registered Nurse for our Progressive Care Unit. The unit consists
of 32 beds and cares for a variety of patients. Common diagnoses
include congestive heart failure, dysrhythmias, chest pain work-up,
strokes, abdominal illnesses, infections, respiratory illnesses,
diabetes, acute kidney injury/chronic kidney disease, alcohol
withdrawal, and intravenous drug abuse. The nurse-to-patient ratio
is typically 1:4 but can increase to 1:5 depending on patient
acuity. Support within the department includes a charge nurse and
resources to assist with patient care. Phlebotomy services are
available, and a respiratory team is on-site 24/7. Hospitalist and
intensivist services are also available 24/7. Telemetry monitoring
is provided both at the bedside and in the nursing station.
Electronic medical records are managed using a specified system.
Nurses may be required to float to other facilities as needed,
based on departmental needs. Weekend rotation is every other
weekend with no on-call expectations. Holiday expectations include
working 75% of the designated holidays. The unit fosters a
