qualifications will not be considered. Deliver advanced nursing
care in a dynamic, high-acuity progressive care unit (PCU) that
will transition into an intensive care unit (ICU) by the end of
2026. This contract opportunity in Winston-Salem, NC, offers a
chance to work in a renowned Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital known
for its cutting-edge cardiac and vascular services. Location
Overview: Situated in a vibrant area of Winston-Salem, this medical
center is an academic hub with 885 licensed beds, including
specialized centers for chest pain and stroke. The city offers a
blend of rich history, cultural activities, and convenient
amenities, providing an excellent quality of life for healthcare
professionals. Key Responsibilities: Provide expert nursing care to
cardiac and post-surgical patients, including those with CHF,
STEMI/NSTEMI, arrhythmias, post-CABG, heart transplants, and
vascular surgeries. Manage complex equipment such as Swanz-Ganz
catheters, Impella devices, chest tubes, tracheostomies, arterial
lines, and multiple drips (pressors, cardiac, sedation). Perform
wound care, dressing changes, defibrillation, EKG interpretation,
cardioversions, and sheath management. Deliver ventilator care as
the unit transitions to ICU status, caring for fresh open-heart
patients. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including RRTs,
hospitalists, intensivists, residents, tele-techs, and support
staff for optimal patient outcomes. Desired Experience and
Qualifications: Minimum 2 years of ICU or PCU nursing experience;
CVICU experience highly preferred. Starting late 2026, 2 years of
ICU experience will be required. Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
certifications. Competence in general ICU nursing, cardiac patient
care, and use of cardiac devices. Experience with LVAD and
post-cardiac transplant patients preferred but not mandatory
(training provided). First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
Additional Details: Patient ratios begin at 1:3-4, moving toward
1:2-3 in ICU phase. Orientation includes two shifts on the unit.

managers, and specialized teams including phlebotomy and PICC. EMR
system: EPIC; medication dispensing via Omnicell. This role is
