Facility: Monroe, North Carolina 28112 174 Beds Stroke Center No
Trauma Designation Not a Teaching Hospital Not a Chest Pain center
Radius Rule: Travelers' permanent address must be 50 miles outside
of home unit Unit Information: Beds: 14 Census? Average
patients/day? 14 Minimum Years of Experience required? 2 years ICU
experience Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes Patient
Types/Common Diagnoses: Adults only. Medical ICU patients: Sepsis,
DKA, Strokes, CIWA, respiratory/kidney/liver failure, GI bleeds,
surgical patients, CHF, COPD, No cardiothoracic or high-level neuro
surgeries Patient Ratios: 1:2-3 depending on staffing Required
License, National Certification, Certs: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Skills
required: Vented patients, trachs, chest tubes, critical drip
maintenance, central line maintenance, art lines, wound care, wound
vacs, drains, cardiac rhythm interpretation, PIV starts, NG tube
insertion/maintenance, etc. EPIC experience required Support within
the Department: 1 CNA, covers HUC duties for nights Cameras in
rooms for remote triage RN, can transfer to remote doc on Nights
HUC during the day Charge nurse, can take patients if needed, but
not usually. Charge RN will be a part of the Rapid Response/Code
Team Phlebotomy 24/7, but ICU draws own labs PICC Team during the
day Anesthesia available at night for central line placements RT
24/7 Hospitalist 24/7 Intensivist 24/7 here during the day, Virtual
Critical Care Doc for Nights Bedside monitors, central monitors at
nurses station Technology/Equipment: EMR: EPIC - required IV Pump:
Alaris Med dispensing: Omnicell Monitors: Phillips Floating: Yes,
could float to other areas to care for ICU or PCU patients.
Typically, do not have to float to MedSurg, but within the realm of
possibility. Will be in rotation with staff Orientation (facility
and unit): NEO 2 shifts in unit to orient to shift hired into
Scheduling: Weekend rotation: 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week
schedule, can be Friday, Saturday, or Sunday On call? No Holiday
Expectations: 50% of holidays in contract Approval of RTO: ok to
approve up to 7 days Shift times: 0645-1915, 1845-0715 Schedule
cycle: 6-week schedules Can put in schedule requests, but
supervisor will balance schedule to unit needs Block scheduling
cannot necessarily be guaranteed Manager open to picking up shifts
