ADEX Healthcare Staffing LLC is seeking a travel nurse RN PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in Charlotte, North Carolina. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 02/23/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - PICU Job Details: • Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM • 36-hour work week available • Every other weekend requirement • No call requirement • Float required as needed within hospital or to affiliate hospitals nearby • Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required • First-time travelers accepted with minimum 2 years of experience • Required certifications: BLS, PALS • Epic charting system experience required • Patient ratio: 1:2 based on acuity, sometimes 1:3 • Manages patients aged 0-17 years in an 8-10 bed unit • Care for patients with respiratory, neurosurgery, heme/onc diagnoses (everything except cardiac surgery and dialysis) • Manages many neurology post-operative patients • Preferred skills include neurology experience, chemotherapy administration, IV placement and lab draws • Must complete 8-10 hours of non-billable modules pre-start • Scrubs not provided - must wear peds-friendly tops with navy blue pants • Cannot work more than 5 days in a row or more than 60 hours per week • Maximum 7 days RTO allowed, must work 2 out of 3 major holidays • NC or Compact license required Facility: This healthcare facility operates a specialized pediatric intensive care unit serving the region's most critically ill children and adolescents. The facility features the only pediatric board-certified neurosurgeon in the region, making it a regional referral center for complex neurosurgical cases. The PICU operates as both an intensive care unit and occasionally functions as an intermediate care unit based on patient needs and census, providing comprehensive critical care services for a wide range of pediatric conditions.
