CT Tech Location: Monroe, NC Agency: Ambition 24Hours Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Shift Information: Days - 4 days x 10 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position CT/DX Technologist Overnight Dual Modality Role A full-time Dual Modality CT/DX Technologist opportunity is available for an imaging professional seeking an overnight schedule in a hospital setting. This role combines CT and diagnostic radiography responsibilities, with strong support from another modality technologist on shift. About the Role Specialty/Unit: Dual Modality (CT/DX). Schedule: Thursday Saturday, 8:00 p.m. 8:00 a.m. (12-hour overnight shifts). Performs CT and diagnostic X-ray procedures according to departmental protocols and quality standards. Operates CT scanners, post-processing stations/programs, IV contrast injectors, oxygen and suction equipment, transport devices, and patient monitoring systems with proficiency. Key Responsibilities Review imaging orders, verify accuracy, and clarify discrepancies with radiologists or ordering providers before scanning. Identify patients using two identifiers, explain procedures, prepare patients, and document appropriately. Obtain complete medical histories from patients and EMRs, correlate relevant labs and prior tests, and record clinical information on requisitions. Prepare and administer IV contrast according to protocol, document contrast details, and practice radiation safety principles for patients, staff, and families. Evaluate image quality, recognize abnormal anatomy, perform additional or reconstructed images as needed, and assist radiologists or PAs during invasive procedures using sterile technique. Initiate life support measures when necessary and assist with code blue emergencies. Follow infection control, bloodborne pathogens, isolation, and safety policies in all invasive and non-invasive procedures. Operate the radiology information system to enter orders, charge procedures and supplies, and document contrast in the MAR. Maintain a neat and orderly work area, report equipment malfunctions, and assist other clinical staff (e.g., anesthesia) during CT-related services. Physical & Technical Requirements Moderate to heavy physical effort: lifting and moving patients, equipment, and supplies; frequent standing, walking, bending, twisting, squatting, and kneeling. Must work safely around moving equipment and follow radiation protection guidelines to limit ionizing radiation exposure. Must have experience in both CT and Diagnostic Radiology (cross-training available for the right candidate with strong radiography background). Education & Certifications Graduate of an accredited two-year AMA and ARRT-approved program in Radiologic Technology (required). ARRT (R) required; ARRT (CT) required or obtained within a defined timeframe per facility policy. Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC). This position offers a weekend program differential and potential sign-on and relocation incentives for eligible candidates, making it an excellent opportunity for technologists who prefer steady overnight work in a dual-modality role.
