Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 1 year in CVICU
experience License: Valid RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS,
NIHSS, CCRN (preferred) Must-Have: EPIC experience preferred
Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse for the
Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit. This unit cares for patients
with cardiovascular support needs. Common diagnoses include
post-operative care for CABG, valve replacement/repair, Impella,
IABP management, and thoracic aortic aneurysms. The
patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:2. Certified Nursing Assistants assist
with ADLs, blood sugar monitoring, vital signs, and patient
transport. Unit management for phone calls and administrative tasks
is provided. A charge nurse is present for support and guidance.
Phlebotomy services are available, along with respiratory therapy
24/7. Technology used in the unit includes electronic medical
records and various monitoring equipment. Nurses rotate weekends
every other week and are expected to work a majority of holidays.
Registered Nurses should be capable of performing post-cardiac
assessments and managing circulatory support devices. Skills in
titrating vasoactive medications and interpreting cardiac waveforms
are necessary. The unit operates with a high acuity and fast-paced
