Job Title: Registered Nurse - Operating Room Profession: RN Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12 Hour Day Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of Operating Room experience License: RN License Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Experience in circulating for cases in Orthopedic, Cardiothoracic, Vascular, General, Urology, Robotic, Gynecology, Colon, Breast, Spine, Podiatry, and Plastic surgeries EPIC experience Description: The Registered Nurse in the Operating Room provides direct patient care in the surgical environment. The role involves assessing patients, planning and implementing nursing care, and evaluating patient outcomes. Responsibilities include circulating during surgical procedures, ensuring sterility, and maintaining a safe environment. Typical surgeries performed include orthopedic cases such as total hip and knee arthroplasties, spine surgeries including fusions and discectomies, and various general and specialty surgeries. The OR operates 13 rooms and performs an average of 45 cases per day. Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, including anesthesia, is essential for quality patient care. The position requires the ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Support staff will assist with room turnovers, patient positioning, and equipment management.
