Experience in a high acuity, fast-paced environment - Ability and
competency to float to Pediatric CVICU Description: The unit is
looking for a 26-week contract. May be open to a 48-hour/week
guarantee. Facility features 247 licensed beds and is a Level 1
pediatric trauma center. It is also a teaching hospital and
certified stroke center. The unit has an average patient census of
21-23 with a total of 24 beds. Common patient diagnoses include
respiratory issues, trauma cases, DKA, seizures, and various
medical complexities. Patient ratios vary based on acuity, with 1:1
and 1:2 ratios required. Required skills include EPIC experience,
proficiency with various medical devices, and management of
critical care procedures. Support within the department includes a
Health Care Tech, unit secretary, charge nurse, phlebotomy
services, and respiratory therapy staff available 24/7.
Technological equipment includes EMR systems and advanced
monitoring devices. Floating may occur to CVICU, NICU, neonatal
PCU, and general pediatric units as needed. The unit culture
