years of strong high acuity Pediatric ICU experience License: RN
Certifications: BLS, PALS Must-Have: - Comfortable in a high
acuity, fast-paced environment - EPIC experience - Experience with
critical care vasoactive drip titration and invasive lines
management - Knowledge of aseptic and sterile techniques - Ability
to manage ventilators, trach care, g-tubes, and j-tubes
Description: The unit is looking for a 26-week contract. May be
open to a 48-hour/week guarantee. The unit has 24 beds and an
average patient census of 21-23. Patient types include respiratory,
trauma, DKA, seizures, neurosurgical cases, renal failure,
orthopedic conditions, surgical cases, transplants, complex medical
cases, and blood disorders. Patient ratios vary based on acuity:
2:1, 1:1, or 1:2. Support is provided by health care techs for unit
secretary duties and nursing support needs throughout the shift. A
unit secretary is available every shift along with a charge nurse,
phlebotomy, and resource nurse, all 24/7. Respiratory therapists
and intensivists are also in-house 24/7. Telemetry monitoring is
centralized and bedside. Floating may occur to other pediatric
units as needed. The unit fosters a culture of teamwork, trust,
