Title: RN - Pediatric Oncology/Hematology Profession: Registered

2 years in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology License: Required
Certifications: BLS, PALS preferred; APHON preferred but not
required Must-Have: - Port access - Central line dressing changes -
PIV - Phlebotomy - Administrative nursing tasks - Order preparation
Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing
in Pediatric Oncology/Hematology. It involves working in an
outpatient ambulatory clinic. The facility is equipped with 20 beds
in the Neuro/Oncology Clinic. The average patient census ranges
from 70 to 100 within all clinics. The patient population includes
pediatric patients aged 18 and younger, with rare cases of adults
with pediatric-specific diagnoses. Common patient admissions
include various hematological and oncology diagnoses. The nursing
team consists of over 10 physicians and more than 5 advanced
practice providers. Nursing support includes Certified Medical
Assistants and Licensed Practical Nurses. Additional support is
provided by nurse navigators, social work, pharmacy,
administration, and child life specialists. The role involves
collaboration with a charge nurse. The electronic medical record
system used is Epico, and the IV pump is Alaris. Floating may occur
between disease-specific clinics within the department. The
schedule requires a weekend rotation for 10-hour shifts. The clinic
is closed on holidays. All requests for time off must be approved
through the manager. The unit culture is characterized as friendly
