Health to find a qualified Labor/Delivery RN in Charlotte, North
Carolina, 28204! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing
Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours
per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years preferred, 3 years
preferred License: NC or Compact License required Certifications:
BCLS, AWHONN Intermediate, NRP Must-Have: - Experience in high
volume obstetrical care (greater than 300 births per month). -
Skills in circulating for C-sections, sterile vaginal exams, and
immediate newborn care. Description: RTO after booking is not
allowed and cannot be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or
additional RTO on the unit could possibly result in cancellation.
Minimum 2 years of experience is required to be comfortable working
on this unit, which can be challenging for less experienced nurses.
Though the unit will accept first-time travelers, they should have
experience in a large, high-volume setting. Nurses may float to
other women's units as needed. Weekends are required with a minimum
of 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule. This unit cares for
obstetrical patients who are 16 weeks and greater for all
intrapartum and high-risk antepartum and postpartum care. The unit
has an obstetrical triage area to screen patients prior to
admission and to perform routine outpatient procedures. Scheduled
and unscheduled Cesarean births are performed, along with rescue
cervical cerclage. The environment is very fast-paced, busier, and
higher acuity than may be normally expected. It may not be
realistic for nurses to take 48-hour contracts due to the busyness
of the unit. Strongly prefer RNs with circulating experience in the
operating room. The average patient ratio is 2:1, with 20 births
anticipated in 24 hours and 30-40 admissions per day. Unit systems
include PYXIS and electronic health record systems. Candidates must
be prepared to work 2 out of 3 major holidays. No RTO is allowed
during the first week of assignment due to orientation. Candidates
must be comfortable floating to other units based on individual
skill sets and census needs. 5 Benefits of Travel Nursing A diverse
