Registered Nurse (RN) | Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care Location: Charlotte, NC Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,913 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 1/12/2026 About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified ICU/Critical Care RN in Charlotte, North Carolina, 28203! Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years in Adult ICU License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Epic experience, Management of external ventricular drains (EVD), Intracranial pressure monitoring, Ventilator management, Management of vasoactive drips, Tracheostomy care, Central line maintenance, Post-monitor TNK and IR Description: This position is for an ICU Registered Nurse. The facility has 874 licensed beds and holds a Level 1 Trauma Designation. It also has a designated Level 1 Pediatric Trauma facility and is a teaching hospital. The unit consists of 29 beds with an average census of 29 patients per day. Candidates must have completed at least one 13-week assignment prior to applying. The patient types treated include neuro ICU cases such as ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, subarachnoid hemorrhage, traumatic brain injuries, seizures/status epilepticus, spinal cord injuries, EVD drains, ICP monitoring, and post-operative cranial surgeries. Other conditions may include off-service trauma or medical ICU patients. The staff-to-patient ratio is generally 1:2 and occasionally may be 1:3 for stable patients. CNA support is not consistently available in this unit. Required skills include: - Epic experience - Management of EVD and ICP monitoring - Ventilator management - Administration of vasoactive drips - Tracheostomy care - Maintenance of central lines - Ability to monitor and manage patients on TNK and IR The department support includes supervisors, a stroke response nurse, a clinical educator, and charge nurses. Respiratory therapy is available 24/7, as well as an intensivist and NP or PA for emergencies. Pharmacy services are accessible after regular hours. Allied health professionals, including physical, occupational, and speech therapists, are available seven days a week, along with case management and social work. Mandatory weekend rotation is every other weekend (Friday/Saturday/Sunday). Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays. Manager approval is required for requests for time off. The unit promotes a teamwork-oriented culture and emphasizes staff retention.
