ICU preferred License: Valid RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS,
NIHSS Must-Have: - ICU background with comfortability to work in
Progressive Care Unit - Experience with high acuity stepdown care
Description: RN position in ICU requires a strong foundation in
critical care nursing. The facility operates with 874 licensed beds
and is designated as a teaching hospital. The unit includes 19 beds
and accommodates patients with diverse needs. Common patient
diagnoses include stroke, heart failure, respiratory illnesses, and
trauma. Patient ratios are maintained at 1:2-3 for RNs and 1:6-10
for CNAs. Nurses are expected to manage patients with advanced
respiratory support and fluid resuscitation. Essential skills
include cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, and drain/tube
management. Experience with vasoactive drips, medication
management, and monitoring ventilated patients is required. Support
staff includes CNAs, charge nurses, and respiratory therapists
available 24/7. The role may require floating to different units or
facilities based on needs. Nurses will read monitors and respond,
as telemetry monitoring tech is not available. Weekend rotation is
every other week, and travelers are not required to be on-call.
Travelers will work 75% of holidays. Scrub color is navy.
