Hospital o Chest Pain Center o Stroke Center o Magnet Designated ?
Unit Information: o Beds: 19 o Minimum Years of Experience
required? 2 years RN exp in ICU (Resource Team) o Will you accept a
first-time traveler? Not preferred but will consider (Resource
Team) ? Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: o Stroke, Heart Failure,
Chest pain, Respiratory illness, Surgical and Trauma, SCI,
Respiratory Failure patients requiring high flow oxygen or
ventilator, DSD, patient requiring fluid resuscitation/blood
products, COPD, ETOH/CIWA, IVDA, Respiratory illnesses, GI
Disorders and infections, Liver Failure, AKI/CKD ? Patient Ratios:
o RN: 1:2-3 o CNA: 1:6-10 ? Required License, National
Certification, Certs (BLS, ACLS, etc.), or other position specific
requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance: o BLS,
ACLS, NIHSS (Resource Team requirement) ? Skills required: o Will
require ICU background but comfortability to work PCU, as this is a
high acuity Stepdown that resembles a low acuity STICU with ratios
of 1:2-3. o Endotool and insulin drip, vasoactive drips for bedside
procedure and recovery, cardiac and Precedex drips, chest tubes,
ventilator, monitoring patients on DSD, continuous BiPAP or CPAP o
General RN skillset: Stroke experience, cardiac rhythm
interpretation, trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT
placement, drain/tube management (Dobhoff, PEG tubes, Hemovac, JP
drains, flexiseals, foley insertion/management, etc), PCA pumps o
Medication gtt management to include: Vasoactive drips, Precedex,
Cardiac drips, Heparin, blood products, IVF ? Support within the
Department: o CNA ratios vary o Receptionist/HUC o Charge nurse,
24/7 may or may not have patients o Phlebotomy peripheral blood
draws only o IV/VAT Team o Resource Nurse as available o RT, 24/7 o
Hospitalist, 24/7 o Intensivist, 24/7 o Telemetry monitoring/tech?
No monitoring tech; nurses read monitors and respond ?
Technology/Equipment: o EMR: EPIC o IV Pump: Alaris o Med
dispensing: Omnicell o Monitors: Phillips ? Floating: If yes,
where? o As needed within CMC Main o Will be required to float per
region needs will require floating to all facilities listed below,
