Teaching hospital o Radius rule: Traveler s permanent address must
be 50 miles outside of home unit ? Unit Information: o Beds: 34
beds/32 vertical care areas o Minimum Years of Experience required:
2 years ED RN experience o Will you accept a first-time traveler:
not preferred, will consider ? Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: o
This ED sees on average 200 patients per day very busy, fast paced,
acute unit o All ages o Heavy trauma stabilization - GSW,
stabbings; Heavy mental health/homeless/drug and ETOH addicted
population o All typical ED diagnoses Stroke, Respiratory illness,
chest pain, abdominal pain, DM/DKA, etc. ? Patient Ratios: o RN:
Variable but typically 1:4 o LPN: Variable but typically 1:4 o CNA:
1:20 ? Required License, National Certification, Certs (BLS, ACLS,
etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's
License and/or Insurance: o BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI (required)
o TNCC (preferred) ? Skills required: o To care for adult and
pediatric patients experiencing medical emergencies o General ED
Skillset to include but not limited to - Cardiac rhythm
interpretation, experience with critical care drips, PIV starts,
TNK/TPA administration, conscious sedation ? Support within the
Department: o CNA o Receptionist o Charge nurse ?
Technology/Equipment: o EMR: EPIC o IV Pump: Alaris o Med
dispensing: Omnicell o Monitors: Phillips ? Floating: o Will be
required to float per region needs will require floating to all
facilities listed below, as needed, within scope of practice
DECLINE if not agreeable o Region 1 - Cabarrus, University City,
Stanly, any Freestanding ED within Region, Lake Norman, Central
Division (CMC Main Mercy LCH) o If floating mid-shift, Traveler
will be paid for the time traveling between facilities (will remain
on the clock) ? Orientation (facility and unit): o NEO o 2 days
departmental ? Scheduling: o Weekend rotation: every other o No
call required o Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of
holidays o RTO: Can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays
must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet
