experience License: RN Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have:
Experience with patients requiring tracheostomy care and mechanical
ventilation. Description: This facility has 337 licensed beds. It
is designated as a Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center. The unit
has a capacity of 36 beds with an average census of 36. Patient
types and common diagnoses include COPD, Heart Failure, Cardiac
Arrhythmias, Renal Failure, Sepsis, and ETOH/CIWA. The unit handles
patients requiring tracheostomies, continuous CPAP/BIPAP, and
high-flow nasal cannula. Additional skills required include
experience with titratable IV drips, cardiac monitors, and chest
tubes. RN to patient ratios are typically 1:3-4, with CNA ratios at
1:9. Support within the department includes CNAs for patient care
and a case manager for each unit. A nurse educator and a dedicated
pharmacist are available 24/7. Respiratory therapy services are
on-site and available around the clock. Floating may be required to
other facilities within the region, depending on the needs.
Advanced technology and equipment include EPIC EMR and Alaris IV
pumps. Daily responsibilities include patient assessments,
medication administration, and coordination of care. The culture of
the unit is family-oriented, emphasizing teamwork and
collaboration.
