hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel
Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for
a high-volume Labor and Delivery unit, requiring recent large
facility experience and strong clinical skills. Responsibilities -
Work in a fast-paced, high-acuity hospital Labor and Delivery unit
- Unit averages over 300 births per month, with frequent double
labor assignments - Patient ratios are typically 2:1; 20 births in
24 hours with 30-40 admits per day - Patient population includes
obstetrical patients 16 weeks and greater, high-risk antepartum,
and postpartum care - Handles scheduled/unscheduled Cesarean births
and rescue cervical cerclage procedures - 12-hour night shifts from
18:45 to 07:15 with every other weekend required - Contract lengths
of 13 to 26 weeks available - Floating required as needed to
Special Maternity Care or high-risk OB unit - No call requirement -
Uses Epic for documentation, as well as PYXIS and SBAR - First-time
travelers accepted with relevant large, high-volume L&D
experience - Unit orientation is 24 hours and scrubs are provided
(blue) - Must be comfortable with frequent double patient
assignments and high acuity - RTO of up to 7 days allowed, provided
it does not fall on a holiday or during the first week of
assignment - Must work at least 2 out of 3 major holidays if
assignment covers holiday periods - Fatigue policy in place:
maximum of 5 consecutive workdays or 60 hours per week - Travel
pairs allowed if assigned to different units - Candidates may float
to other units or nearby affiliate hospitals as needed - Local
candidates accepted at a different rate if within 50 miles
Requirements - Active NC or compact RN license in hand at start
date - Minimum 2 years of recent L&D experience in units with
more than 300 births per month; 3 years preferred - Current
certifications: BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate - Experience with
circulating in the OR required - Competency in sterile vaginal exam
and immediate newborn care - Epic charting experience required -
Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2
