EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Associate's degree from an approved school of
Radiologic Technology or Cardiovascular Interventional Technology
program required; or, an ARRT or RCIS graduate from a
Cardiovascular Interventional Training program; or two years' work
experience in Interventional Radiology or similar modality.
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION: Registered
Radiologic Technologist ARRT (R) or RCIS certification required.
BCLS CPR certification required. Advanced certification required
within one year of hire date (ARRT CV, CI, or VI). ACLS preferred.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Adheres to the general hospital standards
to promote a cooperative work environment by utilizing
communication skills, interpersonal relationships and team
building. 2. Ensures readiness of emergency equipment and supplies.
Recognizes and reacts appropriately to potential emergencies.
Performs routine analysis on imaging equipment to assure proper
working conditions and a minimum of downtime. 3. Performs or
assists in performing procedures and/or diagnostic tests and/or
therapeutic exams through understanding of departmental and
procedural responsibilities, duties, and accountabilities. 4.
Provides instruction, education and consultation to health care
personnel and patients to promote and improve quality patient care
and maintains appropriate education/credentials to accomplish work
objectives. 5. Maintains coordination of activities with others to
accomplish work objectives through positive and professional
interactions. Develops and maintains communication with others to
effectively plan and coordinate activities and while keeping others
informed of work progress. 6. Maintains files and compiles records
according to procedure as required for accurate and current
departmental records and/or reports. 7. Maintains appropriate
education/credentials to accomplish work objectives by being
responsible for own professional growth. Seeks out learning
opportunities available within the department, organization, and
community to increase knowledge and education. 8. Ensures patient
needs are met, promotes excellent customer service, and provides
quality care through evaluation of pertinent patient data prior to
performance of procedures. 9. Provides technologist coverage for
24-hour emergency Neuro Endovascular and Vascular Interventional
services through regular schedules and call/late schedules. 10.
Provides age-developmental appropriate care in accordance with
Age/Developmental Specific Guidelines for the age groups served
when participating in patient care. SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
