Atrium Health is seeking a talented Academic OB/GYN Generalist within our nationally renowned academic medical center. Our faculty team currently consists of 4 academic hospitalists and 6 academic generalists who work together to provide coverage of OB and GYN patients alongside resident physicians. Academic OB/GYN Generalist We are recruiting a full-time academic OB/GYN Generalist to join our dynamic team at Carolinas Medical Center (CMC) in Charlotte, NC. This role offers a comprehensive academic practice that combines patient care, medical education, and research. Key Responsibilities: Inpatient Obstetrics: Supervise residents and medical students in care of patients on Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, and OB Triage units Approximately 3,500 deliveries annually including low- and high-risk patient populations Antepartum patients managed by Maternal Fetal Medicine faculty Inpatient Gynecology: Supervise residents and medical students in care of patients on inpatient gynecology service, inpatient/ED consults, scheduled and unscheduled surgeries Provide backup call from home overnight and on weekend as needed Outpatient Clinics: Supervise resident continuity and specialty GYN clinics Independently care for general OB and GYN patients Additional Academic Responsibilities: Resident and medical student didactic sessions Resident and medical student simulation sessions Opportunity to mentor resident research projects if desired Departmental Highlights: 40 board-certified physicians across OB/GYN subspecialties (Academic Specialists, MFM, Gyn Oncology, REI, Urogynecology, MIGS, PAGS) Regional campus for Wake Forest University School of Medicine, newly opened in 2025 25 OB/GYN residents (6 per year, now approved for 7 per year starting with current Intern class) Primary regional referral center Level 3 NICU support Qualifications: Medical degree from an accredited medical school Board certification/eligibility in OB/GYN Current or recent academic experience strongly preferred Benefits Paid Time Off programs available for eligible positions Comprehensive health and welfare benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability coverage Retirement benefits, including 401(k) options with employer contributions and access to financial wellness resources Flexible spending accounts for eligible health care and dependent care expenses Family support benefits, which may include parental leave, adoption assistance, and surrogacy support Educational assistance and professional development programs Paid medical liability insurance Continuing Medical Education (CME) allowances Relocation assistance About Charlotte, North Carolina Charlotte blends big-city opportunity with small-town charm, offering an ideal mix of professional growth and personal comfort.
