Job Description:
Job Description The W.G. (Bill Hefner) Salisbury Department of
Veteran Affairs Medical Center is actively seeking a full-time
Vascular Surgeon to join our esteemed team. The physician operates
as part of an interdisciplinary team that includes employed, WOC,
and contract physicians, physician extenders, technicians, and both
administrative and clerical personnel. They are responsible for
ensuring the delivery of comprehensive surgical and clinical
services while adhering to the established policies of the
Department of Surgery/Vascular Surgery section. Practice
Environment: 1 Full-Time Section Chief, 2 Part -Time Contractors.
Main site is Salisbury will report to Section Chief of Vascular
Surgery. Will work with staff from Salisbury Kernersville, and
Charlotte N.C. locations. Will travel to Health Care Centers.

Wake Forest Benefits Work Schedule: 08:00-1630 Call Schedule: Fair
share of call with other providers/contracts Pay: Competitive
salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases Paid
Time Off: 50-55 days of annual paid time offer per year (26 days of
annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per
year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME) Retirement:
Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with
up to 5% in contributions by V.A. Insurance: Federal
health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal
insurance programs can be carried into retirement) Licensure: 1
full and unrestricted license from any U.S. State or territory CME:
Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement Malpractice: Free liability
protection with tail coverage provided Contract: No Physician
Employment Contract and no significant restrictions on moonlighting
Requirements U.S. Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed
when it is impossible to recruit qualified citizens, in accordance
with VA Policy. Education: A Doctor of Medicine degree or an
equivalent degree in allopathic or osteopathic medicine is
required. Licensure: Candidates must possess a current, complete,
and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a state,
territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District
of Columbia. Residency: Completion of a residency program in an
accredited core specialty. Board Certification: Candidates must be
board-certified or board-eligible in Vascular Surgery.
