analyze rhythms Description: The position is for a Registered Nurse
in the Progressive Care Unit. The unit has 36 beds with an average
daily census of 35 patients. Common patient types include stroke,
heart failure, TIA, sepsis, syncope, AKI, and chest pain. The
patient ratio is 1 nurse to 4 patients and 1 certified nurse
assistant to 9-12 patients. The role requires the general care of
intermediate patients, including detecting and escalating
neurological changes. Responsibilities include managing and
titrating hemodynamic drips such as Cardizem, Heparin, Insulin,
Neo, Nitro, and Amiodarone. Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
of cardiac rhythms are essential, with support from cardiac
surveillance. The unit is equipped with telemetries, IV pumps, and
the necessary technologies to provide high-level patient care. Team
collaboration is important, with charge nurses and CNAs available
for support. The unit fosters a positive culture with strong
leadership and a solid work ethic among staff.
