Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team at Spay Neuter Clinic of the Carolinas. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our veterinarians and technicians.Key Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with patient care and treatment, including monitoring hospitalized pets and preparing patients for surgery.
• Perform routine in-house laboratory work, including taking and developing radiographs, and obtaining blood and stool samples.
• Administer and monitor medications, anesthesia, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
• Provide basic animal handling and restrain animals during exams, ensuring the safety and well-being of both the animal and the client.
• Communicate effectively with clients, veterinarians, and practice team members to ensure seamless patient care and client satisfaction.Requirements
  • Previous veterinary experience preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to work on weekends as required.
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds, with assistance for heavier loads.
  • Basic math skills and ability to calculate medication dosages.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with MS Office applications.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on patient safety and client satisfaction.Benefits
